LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. Nigerian-Korean Model Who Faced Racism In South Korea To Be A Top Model

Han hyunmin is a model of Nigerian and Korean descent, he is the first Korean model of african descent to walk the catwalks in South Korea.
He was discovered by a korean modelling agency at age 15 while he was still in school, they arranged a meeting and met at a coffee shop where they asked him to walk and signed him on the spot
He was faced with a lot of discrimination when he was young and even still now
He had an interview with Ghanian Korean Actor Sam Okyere explaining how he was treated as a child "it would be a lie to say i wasn't teassd and discriminated as a kid"
"The first time i experienced it was in kindergarten, you don't really go outside, so i never felt like i was different, but once i started goinv to school, i realized that one had the same skin colour as me, and jt made me start to wonder why i was different from everyone else" he said the mother of one of his friends had said she didn't want them playing together
"The older i get, the more i felt it, my friends would say things like 'you can't be seen at night', and 'what color is your blood?' I used to get teased on school trips and i hated that"
On South Korea's Teachers day this year, Han Hyunmin visited his 3rd grade teacher to express gratitude and gave a bow of respect for the support she had given him
"Grade 1 and 2 was hard, my friends didn't want to be partners with me in clasz activities, i couldn't adjust and fought alot"
"People made fun of me and i feared being viewed as strange, i even received treatment for depression, my mom had a really hard time"

He said his third grade school teacher 'Teacher Lee' approached him without an judgement and treated him like every other student and supported his then dream of becoming a baseball player
