The owner of one of the two hotels demolished by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Promise Gogorobari has denied claims flying around that his hotel, Prodest hotel was demolished because he flouted the executive order.
According to Mr. Promise Gogorobari, he believed that Prodest hotel did not violate any Governor's order and that the state government should have investigated the allegations before executing the demolition order.
He continued, if after the investigation, and they found me wanting, then another alternative should be taken not demolishing my hotel.
Mr. Promise Gogorobari who revealed this while speaking to pressmen in Lagos State said, “I'm based in Lagos State, but I'm not in the right frame of mind to speak now. There's nobody who will not feel bad about this. It is a hotel that I built for the past seven years. The demolition of hotels is a setback to the state regarding investment.
“That was an investment that was taking care of my family and relatives and people around me. There was no fair hearing before the demolition took place. With this, many people are out of jobs, he concluded.”
Recall that on Sunday, Governor Nyesom Wike supervised the demolition of two hotels in the state, and Prodest Hotel located at Eleme was one of them.
Do you think the owner was right that Governor Nyesom Wike should have investigated, and if found guilty, taken another step not outright demolition?
