Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has joined old rival, Floyd Mayweather, in dropping off the Forbes Money List for the Top 100 Athletes in 2020.

Last year, the ‘Pacman’ slipped to 92 on the annual rankings as his career began winding down. Since then, and despite beating Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman in 2019, Pacquiao doesn’t even make the compilation.

Earning $26 million last year, the Filipino Senator was unable to garner enough cash to squeeze into the Highest-Paid sports stars.

Mayweather left the honor roll in 2019 as Pacquiao’s earning power began to wane. Floyd has now only appeared on the list once in the last four years.

Despite that fact, Floyd Mayweather was named by Forbes as the Highest-Paid Athlete of the Decade on an amazing $915 million.

Back in 2015, when the pair finally faced each other at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather vs Pacquiao broke box office records.

Sales of 4.6 million Pay-Per-View’s skyrocketed the welterweight stars to numbers one and two respectively.

Mayweather came top on an unreal $300 million. For his part, Pacquiao earned $160 million thanks to the May 2 extravaganza.

Third-placed Cristiano Ronaldo was over $80 million behind Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao as the sport took center stage.

Only four boxers made the 2020 register, though, with Tyson Fury leading the way. The WBC heavyweight champion was a full ten million ahead of British rival Anthony Joshua on $57 million.

Deontay Wilder was a mere half a million behind AJ. Whilst Canelo Alvarez, who took 4th place in 2019 on $94 million, dropped to number 30 this time around.

The current pandemic and lack of live-action has hit many sportspeople hard. Earnings were down across the board as Roger Federer was one of only three to take home more than $100 million.

With the help of the British government and others, Gowon successfully imposed a total blockade, cutting off Biafra's food and military supplies, and as a result, millions died of severe hunger and starvation.

The war which he (Gowon) boasted to end in 4-8 weeks lasted for 3 years (1967 - 1970).

It remains on record till date that Nigeria suffered enormous military casualties while on the side of Biafra it was mainly of civilians who died.

The war ended in "No Victor, No vanquish".

Two policemen held as teenager dies from stray bullet injuries

Two policemen attached to Bariga Division, Lagos, have been detained after a 17-year-old girl hit by stray bullet on Tuesday night died in the hospital.

The victim, Tina Ezekwe, was hit by the bullet fired by the policemen identified as ASP Theophilus Otobo and Inspector Oguntoba Olamigoke around 10:45pm near the Oworo end of the Third Mainland Bridge.

It was alleged that two other persons sustained injuries, including Musa Yakubu, 35.

The shooting, which was captured on video by road users, attracted public outcry especially with news of the teenager’s death late on Thursday.

Reacting to the incident, police spokesman Bala Elkana said the detained cops were undergoing internal disciplinary procedures and would be prosecuted if found culpable.

He said the Commissioner of Police (CP) Hakeem Odumosu has ordered indepth investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ezekwe’s death.

“The incident happened on May 26, at about 10:45pm. The said police officers fired shots from their pin down point along Berger by Third Mainland Bridge in circumstances yet to be determined.

“One Musa Yakubu, 35, was injured at the point and a stray bullet hit Tina at Berger Iyana-Oworo Bus Stop. The bullet pierced through the left upper side of her lap.

“She was rushed to hospital by a team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO). The battle to save her life lasted for two days. She died on May 28, at about 9:29pm while on admission. The second person is in stable condition.

“The police have been in contact with the families of the victims from the day of the incident. The command deeply sympathised with the family and friends of the deceased person.

“The Commissioner of Police calls for calm and assures the family that the perpetrators of this dastardly act will face the full weight of the law. He reiterated his stance on zero tolerance for impunity. The public will be updated on the outcome of the investigation.”

Vincent Simeone, of Woburn, Massachusetts, attended Amy Zimmerman Scudieri's nuptials at a safe distance on May 24 — the same day that would have been his late wife Millie's 100th birthday.

Scudieri is the third oldest of Simeone's seven grandchildren.

"It was a huge surprise and it was great to see him standing and waving, smiling," and one  "You could tell by his eyes that he was very excited and happy to witness such moment of Joy from his family."

Simeone is a WWII veteran and worked 35 years for the U.S. Postal Service. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 April 16 and was hospitalized from April 20 to May 7, his granddaughter Heather Simeone told "GMA."

He loves life, and loves to be with family," Heather Simeone said. "Even with the virus he said, 'It's OK. It's going to be fine.'"

"He is what keeps our family together," Scudieri said. "We're always there with him laughing at his jokes.When it came time for Scudieri to marry, 10 people witnessed the ceremony inside a church and family members gathered in the parking lot for a short reception.
