Worrying signs for football authorities as Paulo Dybala tests positive for coronavirus for the fourth time in six weeks
- Dybala and his girlfriend initially contracted Covid-19 on March 21.
- He confirmed towards the end of March that he was no longer showing symptoms of the illness.
- However, the Argentine's most recent test has come back positive yet again.
- The football authorities in Italy are planning to resume the campaign but Dybala's case remains a worrying sign.
According to Spanish programme El Chiringuito, Juventus star Paulo Dybalahas tested positive for coronavirus for the fourth time in six weeks, having initially contracted the illness on March 21.
The Argentine confirmed last month that he and his girlfriend Oriana Sabatini had contracted the killer bug but he assured the fans towards the end of March that he had recovered and was no longer showing symptoms.
However, the 26-year-old's most recent tests have come back positive yet again and it is feared that Dybala has suffered a recurrence of Covid-19.
That comes as a massive cause of concern to the football authorities in Italy, who have given the players the green light to start training individually from May 4, with a view to returning to group training two weeks later.
Plans are reportedly being laid out to resume the campaign in early June but it remains to be seen whether the chiefs alter their stance after learning about Dybala's struggles in shaking off the illness.
It has been confirmed, however, that Dybala's Juventus teammates, Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi, have recovered completely from Covid-19.
